Student Philanthropy Council, Libraries Launch ‘Bird Plug-In’ Project

The Student Philanthropy Council and Syracuse University Libraries have joined forces to launch the “Bird Library Plug-In” project on ’CuseFunder—crowdfunding for great SU causes. The project will address the Number One student complaint about Bird Library—the need for more power outlets.

“Bird Library Plug-In” began on Monday, March 23, as part of the kick-off to Philanthropy Week 2015 and is seeking to raise at least $2,500 by April 10. A gift of as little as $20 will fund an additional outlet.

“Students spend an incredible amount of time in Bird Library and while the University has been hard at work making updates to the basement and first floor, we want to be part of the solution now and for the future,” says Ivan Robles ’15, a finance, accounting, and policy studies major and chair of the Student Philanthropy Council.

Broad support is needed to make the outlets project a reality. Be part of the “Bird Plug-In,” and help students make Bird even more “plug-in” friendly.
