Whitman School to Host Business Case Competition March 27

The Martin J. Whitman School of Management will host a case competition on Friday, March 27, from 1-4 p.m. in several rooms on the third floor of the Whitman School building. Held annually each spring by the Whitman Graduate Student Organization, the competition is open to all Whitman M.B.A./M.S. graduate students, as well as graduate students from invited schools.

This year’s competition features two teams from Whitman, comprised of M.S. in finance students; two teams from SUNY Binghamton; two teams from the University at Buffalo; and one team from Case Western.

A case competition is an event in which teams of students have the opportunity to analyze real-life business problems and make recommendations to a panel of corporate executives and business leaders. The evaluators for this competition are members of Whitman’s faculty, including but not limited to marketing and supply chain management.

“The Whitman Case Competition is a great opportunity for students to demonstrate strategic thinking, use critical analysis skills and deliver dynamic presentation techniques that they have learned throughout the academic year,” explains Adam Capozzi, assistant director of graduate recruitment and student life.

Teams that make the finals are eligible for prize money totaling $5,000.
