“El Beso,” Pedro Cuperman
Point of Contact is hosting its Annual Patron Holiday Benefit “El Beso” on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. The event will feature a special poetry reading by Pedro Cuperman and Jules Gibbs from, the Collection “El Beso” by Pedro Cuperman. A poetry broadside from “El Beso” will also be presented for the first time in English and Spanish, only for Point of Contact Patrons. Guests will be able to purchase this and other unique pieces from an array of special edition archival prints and Point of Contact books, and have them wrapped as perfect holiday gifts.
Latin American and Holiday classics will be performed live by violinist Sara Silva, along with champagne and wine served with Argentine delicacies and hors d’oeuvres. Guests will also have an exclusive viewing of “Moments of Place,” an exhibition by New York City artist Gwenn Thomas on view at Point of Contact Gallery.
All proceeds from the Patron Holiday Benefit will sponsor Point of Contact’s arts and literary programs, the preservation of the art collection and the publication of a collection catalogue in 2015, commemorating Point of Contact’s 40th Anniversary. Tickets are $75 each or $10 for current students and can be purchased at http://puntopoint.org/events or at the door on the night of the event.
