Arizona State University president and Maxwell alumnus Michael M. Crow ’85 will visit the Maxwell School on Nov. 17 for an informal discussion about science and higher education policy. The event is being presented by the Center for Technology and Information Policy (CTIP) and is part of a series of events on science, technology and education policy in honor of Maxwell’s 90th anniversary.

Crow is ASU’s 16th president and is credited with improving the quality and reputation of the university since he was selected as president in 2002. A highly respected scholar in the areas of education and technology, he recently partnered with Starbucks to provide on-line degrees for employees and create an alliance across several universities to expand enrollment for low-income students. Crow was named recently to the board of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition. Before joining ASU, he served as the executive vice provost of Columbia University, where he was also professor of science and technology policy in the School of International and Public Affairs.
Crow’s presentation will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Dr. Paul and Natalie Strasser Legacy Room, 220 Eggers Hall.
