The School of Information Studies (iSchool) will be offering an Exam Study Workshop for the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification exam.

Classes will begin on Thursday, Oct. 2, and will meet weekly through Nov. 13 from 6-8 p.m. in Hinds Hall.

This workshop was specifically designed in collaboration with the iSchool for Syracuse University students who have taken, or are currently taking, a semester project management course, such as IST445/IST645, or SCM456/SCM656.

The workshop is taught by PMI certified project management professionals from the Syracuse Chapter of PMI, and is synchronized with the latest exam version by PMI.

A fee of $125 includes participants’ exam study guide and the the workshop sessions. This is not an official University course, and enrollment is handled directly through the Syracuse PMI chapter at: http://www.pmi-syracuse.org/

The workshop syllabus (http://ischool.syr.edu/media/documents/2014/9/CAPM_Exam_Prep_Wkshp_FL14_SYLLABUS.pdf) provides all appropriate information concerning related fees and payment options, as well as course content and logistics. The workshop fee is due at the first class session as per the instructions in the syllabus and may be made by credit card, cash or checks made payable to PMI-Syracuse Chapter. Students must also join PMI and register for the CAPM Exam through separate procedures.

Students with questions should contact Art Thomas, program director for the Information Management and Telecommunications and Network Management graduate programs at apthomas@syr.edu
