Workers confer on how to proceed on Sims Drive.
As the start of the academic year approaches, construction taking place on campus is beginning to wrap up.
One such project includes Sims Drive, which is tentatively scheduled to reopen Friday, Aug. 15. Crews are in the process of completing the current phase of the project, with more work planned next summer. If all goes as planned, Sims Drive will reopen Friday afternoon.
Among the work scheduled to take place in the summer of 2015:
-replacement of Mount Olympus stair landing to include a prominent plaza and stairs;
-reconstruction of Euclid Avenue between College Place and Comstock Avenue to include the addition of a bike lane;
-improvements to the park south of Archbold Gym, along with site work along Archbold and Flanagan Gyms; and
-completion of enhancements to the north side of Sims Drive.
