The Syracuse University Symphony Band and Concert Band will present their final concerts of the season this week in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, Crouse College. Both concerts are free and open to the public.
On Friday, April 25, at 5 p.m., the Symphony Band will perform under the direction of Justin J. Mertz. The band will perform works by Prokofieff, Tull, Chance, Williams, Ticheli and Whitacre. Carina A. Gutjahr and John C. Hylkema will appear as graduate conducting associates.
On Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m., the Concert Band will perform under the direction of Samantha S. Baldwin and John C. Hylkema. The band will perform works by Sousa, Strommen, Sheldon, Vaughan-Williams, Lauridsen and Karrick.
The concerts are presented by the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Free and accessible parking is available in the Q1 lot. Additional parking is available in the Irving Garage. Campus parking availability is subject to change; call 315-443-2191 for current information.
