The National Association of Black Journalists, Syracuse University Chapter (NABJ-SU), is hosting “The Real Olivia Pope,” featuring author, television producer and celebrity crisis manager Judy Smith, at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications on Monday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in Hergenhan Auditorium.
“The Real Olivia Pope” will dissect what it is like to be on speed dial for several high-profile clients as America’s top crisis management expert. Smith will engage in a thought-provoking conversation about the scandals she’s helped to manage.
Smith has advised the likes of former President George Bush, Sr., Kobe Bryant, Monica Lewinsky and most recently, Paula Deen. Smith has built such a solid reputation that acclaimed screenwriter Shonda Rhimes brought her story to life in ABC’s hit drama series “Scandal.”
NABJ-SU is a support group for rising journalists, communicators and media enthusiasts at Syracuse University.
