SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

Women’s Wear Daily reported on a Ken Auletta/Steve Kroft interview during an event produced by Syracuse University and cohosted by the Paley Center for Media where Auletta’s comments included Google and social media.

Research from SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) is mentioned in a Chattanooga Times Free Press article on rising backlogs in immigration court cases.

A photo of Gerald Grant, Hannah Hammond Professor of Education and Sociology Emeritus in the School of Education, accompanies the Post-Standard story on the possibility of a consolidated school district. Grant and his new book, “Hope and Despair in the American City,” are featured in the article.

The Post-Standard Stars magazine reviewed the John Wood exhibition at SU Art Galleries.

“Fresh,” the College of Visual and Performing Arts first-year student exhibition at XL Projects gallery, is included among Th3 events in Post-Standard and CNY Link articles.

A letter to the editor from Francis Ward, professor of journalism in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, on African press coverage was published in the Post-Standard.

Sean Kirst’s Post-Standard column focused on the life and career of the late Joel Kidder, assistant professor emeritus of philosophy.

Rick Burton, David B. Falk Professor of Sport Management in the College of Human Ecology, is quoted in BBC, Associated Press, Economic Times and Los Angeles Times stories on Accenture Ltd.’s exit from its Tiger Woods advertising campaign.

Leonard Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, is quoted in a Bloomberg article on federal spending.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in the San Diego Union Tribune on gift cards; Los Angeles Times on the volume of television commercials; and Houston Chronicle on free-range kids.

Yildiray Yildirim, associate professor of finance in the Whitman School of Management, is quoted in a Record and Herald News (Hackensack, N.J.) article on setting home values.

Jeffrey Woodward, managing director of Syracuse Stage, is quoted in a Post-Standard story on performing arts organizations and their subscriptions and ticket sales.
