Setnor School to launch Girls Leadership Academy for Music

This summer Syracuse University’s Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music will launch its new Girls Leadership Academy for Music (GLAM), a five-day, intensive music leadership day camp for girls ages 14-18. GLAM will be held July 8-12 on the SU campus and will include a variety of activities, including workshops, mentorship and guest speakers—all designed to help girls in music develop or hone their leadership skills.

GLAM is geared toward students who are or who aspire to be in music leadership positions, as well as those who are considering majoring in music at a college or university. Workshops will include music, personnel and life leadership skills training. Each student will be paired with a mentor who is a college-aged woman in a music leadership position within the Setnor School of Music. Guest speakers will be drawn from the professional realm of the arts and will address the journey toward—and career demands of—music leadership.
