Career Services Presents Annual Spring Career Fair

Career Services, within the Division of Student Affairs, will host its annual Spring Career Fair at Flanagan Gymnasium on Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Representatives from more than 50 organizations will attend, offering students of all majors the opportunity to learn about a variety of internships and full-time job opportunities.

This year, General Electric, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Macy’s/Bloomingdale’s are the featured sponsors, with supporting sponsorship from Cognizant Technology Solutions, PepsiCo, The Travelers Companies and New York State Army National Guard.

Some new organizations participating in this year’s Spring Career Fair include: Cintas, Envisage Information Systems, Hillstone Restaurant Group, Kirchhoff-Consigli Construction Management, NBCUniversal, Oracle Corp. and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. Students can view the full list of participating employers via OrangeLink.

“We’re excited to be hosting a great group of employers on campus again this semester,” says Sue Casson, associate director of employer relations. “Syracuse University students continue to stand out, and we always look forward to connecting them to employers for job and internship opportunities.”

Students are encouraged to visit Career Services in Suite 235 of the Schine Student Center if they would like to meet with a career counselor and strategize their approach for the Career Fair. Students can also attend Resumania on Monday, Feb. 4, from 9 a.m-3:30 p.m. in Suite 235 of the Schine Student Center to prepare for the Career Fair. This provides students with the opportunity to have their resumes critiqued through one-on-one meetings with employer representatives. Resumania is on a first-come, first-served basis. All interested students are encouraged to attend. Employer volunteers include representatives from Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Burlington Coat Factory and more.

“One of the most beneficial steps a student can take is coming prepared to the fair,” says Casson. “This means knowing which employers they will approach, having a well-written resume and being prepared with questions to ask. We can help them craft this strategy.”

For students interested in careers in the nonprofit, government, healthcare and education industries, Career Services will also host the Nonprofit and Government Career Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 11 a.m-2 p.m. in Panasci Lounge in the Schine Student Center. Students will have the opportunity to learn about internship and full-time opportunities at this event.
