Interested in student research? Students in Professor Joan Bryant’s African American Studies research methods seminar made use of resources from SU Library’s Special Collections Research Center to conduct research projects related to this year’s Ray Smith Symposium “Positions of Dissent.” They will present their dissent-themed projects and archival discoveries in an open forum on Nov. 14 from 3:45-6:30 p.m. in the Spector Room on the sixth floor of Bird Library. The event is open to the public.
“Positions of Dissent” is grounded in the unique holdings of the Special Collections Research Center (SCRC), which fosters contemporary scholarship by linking researchers to tangible primary sources. Over the course of the academic year, SCRC will host five renowned scholars, each of whom works on the issue of dissent in a different field.
