If you are feeling overwhelmed or depressed, or just not enjoying life, it may be time to pause and take a moment to assess your emotional health.
The Syracuse University Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) will offer depression screening throughout October, National Depression Awareness Month, beginning Monday, Oct. 1. The screenings for faculty and staff are designed to increase awareness about depression and treatment resources.
A brief online depression screening can be completed on the FSAP website. A more comprehensive screening is available in person at the FSAP office located at 111 Waverly Ave., Suite 215 (in the Health Services building). Those who participate in the comprehensive screening complete a confidential depression assessment followed by a feedback session with an FSAP professional counselor. The assessment and feedback process takes about 30 minutes. Educational materials and information about treatment resources will be provided.
