James Schmeling, managing director and co-founder of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF), will speak as part of a panel discussion during the Central New York SHRM Diversity Seminar, “The Recruitment and Retention of Veteran Employees,” Friday, Sept. 21, in Liverpool, N.Y.
The seminar will give human resources professionals information to assist their organizations in the hiring and retention of veteran employees. Schmeling will speak on a panel of veteran diversity experts, including fellow SU staff member Meera Adya, director of research at the Burton Blatt Institute.
CNY SHRM, founded in 1974, currently holds a membership of more than 700 members from more than 400 local companies. An affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management, the chapter provides professional development and networking opportunities for HR professionals in the greater Syracuse area.
