Comments by David M. Crane, professor of practice in the College of Law, were included in Associated Press and AllAfrica.com stories on the defense testimony of former Liberian leader Charles Taylor at the Special Court for Sierra Leone.

The Post-Standard and Business Wire reported on the expansion and U.S. Small Business Administration support of the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV), created at the Whitman School of Management. A photo of Mike Haynie, EBV founder and assistant professor of entrepreneurship in the Whitman School, appeared with the Post-Standard article. Syracuse University’s EBV was also mentioned in a Tallahassee Democrat article on veterans’ issues.

SU’s decision not to consider using Kindle e-book readers until the device is made more accessible to the visually impaired was covered in news reports by national and regional media including theAssociated Press; Inside Higher Ed (second item); ABC, CBS, Fox and WB networks; and WBAL-AM radio in Baltimore, Md.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, spoke with WTOP radio in Washington, D.C., about the debut of the new TBS late-night talk show with George Lopez.

An interview with Mary Karr, Jesse Truesdell Peck Professor of Literature in The College of Arts and Sciences, on her new memoir, “Lit,” was published in the Huffington Post.

Janis Mayes, associate professor of African American studies in The College of Arts and Sciences, was reported in the Miami Herald (fourth item) as a participant in the African Diaspora Panel book talk with the 2009 Miami Book Fair International.

SU Press author Norman Gershman appeared on CBS News “Sunday Morning” to discuss his SU Press book, “Besa: Muslims Who Saved Jews in World War II;” the documentary film, “God’s House;” and his dedication to casting light upon the courage of Albanians who sheltered Jews. Gershman was also featured in a Wall Street Journal article about the documentary and new book.

Mary Goodwin, associate director of Light Works/Community Darkrooms, was quoted in a CNYLink review of the Deana Lawson “Corporeal” exhibition currently on display at Light Work.

Sanford Sternlicht, professor of English in The College of Arts and Sciences, was featured in a News 10 Now report on the Holocaust.

Today’s exhibition of a portion of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in Goldstein Auditorium was reported briefly in the Post-Standard.
