SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

The New York Times and Gallerist NY reported on School of Architecture Dean Mark Robbins being named executive director of the International Center of Photography.

The Post-Standard profiled Chancellor Cantor for her upcoming Person of Achievement award, recognizing her work to develop stronger ties between Syracuse University and the community.

The Post-Standard previewed today’s groundbreaking of the South Side Food Cooperative. The Southside Community Coalition, GC² and SU’s South Side Initiative Office celebrated the event this morning as a major step in the development of a business and cultural district on the South Salina Street corridor between Colvin Street and Brighton Avenue.

Hollywood Reporter highlighted the College of Visual and Performing Arts as being among the 25 top drama schools, as ranked by the magazine.

The Albany Business Review highlighted SU graduate Architecture student Nathan Aleskovsky as he discussed his early-stage company, ShowCode, at the New York State Business Plan Competition at the Albany NanoCollege.

FACULTY QUOTES

David M. Crane L’80, professor of practice in the College of Law, authored a column for Jurist on Charles Taylor being found guilty of war crimes, and how his conviction should serve as a warning to others who commit war crimes and crimes against humanity. As former Prosecutor for the Special Court for Sierra Leone, Crane indicted Taylor, who is the former Liberian president.

Tina Nabatchi, assistant professor of public administration and international affairs at the Maxwell School, as well as faculty research associate at the Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC), was featured on the Business of Government Radio Hour, hosted by Michael J. Keegan.

William Ward, professor of practice in the Newhouse School, spoke with American Public Media’s “Marketplace” show about advertising through online television.

Horace Campbell, professor of African American Studies and political science in The College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in In These Times on political change taking place across the Arab being viewed in light of the transformations occurring across the African continent.

David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law, spoke on the CBC’s “Mark Kelly Show” and CTV News about the Canadian company SNC-Lavalin and money funneled to members of Libya’s Gadhafi family.
