SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

The Chronicle of Higher Education, Associated Press Reuters, Bloomberg, Bloomberg Radio, WSYR-TV, the Post-Standard and the Central New York Business Journal reported on Chancellor Cantor’s participation in the White House announcement that SU and nine other institutions across the nation are making a new commitment to promote greater clarity in student financial aid packages and college costs. WSYR-AM spoke with SU Vice President for Enrollment Management Donald Saleh about SU’s commitment.

Syracuse University Archives is mentioned in an Akron Beacon Journal article on the Archive’s holding of the Stephen Crane Collection, papers of the American novelist, journalist, poet and war correspondent.

WRVO, YNN. CNY Central, and WSYR-TV reported on the student-organized gathering in remembrance of Syracuse University graduate film student Bassel Al Shahade Monday in front of Hendricks Chapel.

WRVO and Innovation Trail features highlighted that the Syracuse Student Sandbox at the Tech Garden is underway for student entrepreneurs. John Liddy, the Tech Garden’s entrepreneur-in-residence, is quoted.

The Post-Standard previewed the presentation of two compositions written by alumni of the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, in collaboration with local public school students and their teachers, to be performed in Hendricks Chapel on Friday, June 8.

An article on franchising and entrepreneurship as a viable post-service career path for returning service members in the June-July issue of Franchise Times quotes Mike Haynie, executive director and founder of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families and Barnes Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Whitman School of Management.
