A Washington Post feature recounts the experience of Syracuse University graduate and Commencement speaker Stephen Barton ’12 biking across the country and ending up at the movie theater site of the mass shootings in Aurora, Colo.
WSB-TV Channel 2 in Atlanta featured Mary Morder from the Southeast ADA Center, a project of SU’s Burton Blatt Institute, in a story about ADA parking violations that ran on the 22nd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Phillyburbs.com reported on the launch of Operation Boots to Business: From Service to Startup, a program to help transitioning service members and veterans become entrepreneurs. The pilot program was launched by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, U.S. Small Business Administration and U.S Marine Corps on four USMC bases and goes nationwide in 2013.
The Street mentions the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) national program in an article on corporate partner Humana expanding its veterans initiative. The EBV was founded at the Whitman School in 2007 and is operated under the auspices of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families.
