Earth Magazine, Gizmodo and Red Orbit reported on the Syracuse University Lava Project—a mix of science, art and education to investigate the physical properties, aesthetics and educational opportunities of creating basaltic lava flows in a controlled, outdoor laboratory environment. The project is organized by the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ Sculpture Program, in collaboration with the Department of Earth Sciences in The College of Arts and Sciences.
