Sims Drive closed July 2-13

Thursday, July 5, 2012, By News Staff
Share

Sims Drive will be closed from July 2-13 to allow for the installation of an electrical duct bank.

The closure of Sims Drive will coincide with the reopening of the Q-1 South Parking Lot, allowing for two- way cross campus traffic via the road between the Carrier Dome and Archbold Gymnasium.

Vehicle access to Archbold Gymnasium, the Carnegie Lot, as well as the BRL and Shaffer loading docks will be maintained at all times.

The excavated trench will be backfilled or plated at the end of each work day to allow emergency vehicle traffic to use Sims Drive in an off-hours emergency.

Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on one sidewalk at all times.

Transit and bus route changes:

During the closure, Connective Corridor buses will not be able to operate on Sims Drive, Forestry Drive or Irving Avenue between East Raynor Avenue and Waverly Avenue. The Connective Corridor bus will now operate from Comstock Avenue at the Life Sciences Complex to a left on Euclid Avenue, left on Ostrom Avenue, left on University Place, right on South Crouse Avenue, left on Waverly Avenue, right on Irving Avenue and regular routing to Archbold Theatre and the Warehouse.

The Connective Corridor bus will return to campus via Irving Avenue, left on Waverly Avenue, right on South Crouse Avenue, left on University Place and right on Comstock Avenue to the Life Sciences Complex.
