Three students in the in the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ Setnor School of Music will present recitals on Saturday, April 21. The recitals, which are free and open to the public, will be held in Setnor Auditorium, Crouse College.
April 21, 2 p.m.: Samantha Baldwin, a senior music education major with flute performance honors in the Setnor School of Music, will present her senior flute recital. The recital will feature works by C.P.E. Bach, Piazzolla, Caplet, Schubert, Saint-Saëns and Borne. Guest artists are Stephen Chuba on clarinet and Moriah Dohner on cello. Sabine Krantz will accompany on piano. Parking is available in the Waverly, Harrison or Lehman lots.
April 21, 5 p.m.: Stephen Brew, a graduate guitar performance major in the Setnor School of Music, will present his graduate guitar recital. The program will include works by Rodrigo, Bach and Piazzolla. Aimee Lillienstein and the SU Graduate Guitar Quartet will also appear. Parking is available in the Waverly, Harrison or Lehman lots.
April 21, 8 p.m.: Kleber M. de Sousa, a graduate piano and ensemble arts student in Setnor School of Music from Brazil, will perform a recital of vocal and instrumental chamber music. The recital will feature a variety of musical styles, including pieces by Brahms, Mozart and Rachmaninoff, plus Spanish composer Sandoval and a Negro spiritual. Sara E. Detweiler, Carina M. DiGianfilippo, Stefan Tessoun, Deenna Dimmick, Maddie Horrell and Matthew Scinto will perform with Sousa. Patrons will hear the sound of trumpet, cello, viola, clarinet and voice with the piano in diverse combinations. Free parking is available in the Irving Garage; parking for patrons with disabilities is available in the Q1 lot. Patrons should mention that they are
attending the concert.
