Sam Van Aken, associate professor of sculpture in the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ Department of Art, was featured in The Evening Sun (Hanover, Pa.) for his “New Edens” exhibition at Gettysburg College.

The Gazette (Gaithersburg, Md.) article on the success of the state’s business incubators mentions post-doctoral scholar Alejandro Amezcua of the Whitman School of Management, relative to a 2010 national study that he conducted (partly funded by the Kauffman Foundation) on entrepreneurship issues, trends and business incubators.

Syracuse.com reported on the Department of Drama in the College of Visual and Performing Arts joining in today’s nationwide reading of “It Can’t Happen Here” on the play’s 75th anniversary.

Post-Standard columnist Sean Kirst wrote about Elizabeth Philipps and her husband, Ervin, who will travel to Lockerbie, Scotland this week in remembrance of their daughter, Sarah. She was one of 35 Syracuse University students who died in the bombing of Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie on Dec. 21, 1988.

The Post-Standard and The Eagle reported on Saturday’s Salt City Urban Art & Craft Market held at King + King Architects in the Near Westside neighborhood. Both articles mention the Near Westside Initiative.

Milton Mueller, professor in the School of Information Studies (iSchool), is quoted in The Hindu article on proposed global Internet governance within the United Nations.

Rick Burton, the David B. Falk Professor of Sport Management Rick in the Falk College, authored a New York Times analysis on the NBA work stoppage and lockout.

Voice of America comments by David M. Crane L’80, professor of practice in the College of Law, on the death of Moammar Gadhafi, were mentioned in Legalbrief Today.

Riyad Aboutaha, associate professor of engineering in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science, is quoted in a Post-Standard article on structurally deficient bridges in Central New York.

Kheli R. Willetts, assistant professor of African American Studies at The College of Arts and Sciences and executive director of Community Folk Art Center (CFAC), authored a guest column in the Post-Standard on political activism and the Occupy Wall Street movement.
