If so,the Office of First-year and Transfer programs invites you to contribute to the Story Project faculty and staff page—this page is designed to provide inspiration and role models for our first-generation students, a growing population of students at Syracuse University.
The Story Project provides opportunities for first-generation students to describe their journey to higher education. It is a space for dialogue and community outreach where students are encouraged to document their experiences through journal writing and sharing of their stories through various mediums. It is our hope to put a face on
various facets of diversity on campus while celebrating their stories of perseverance and determination.
Did you know that approximately 18 percent of the Class of 2014 identify as the first in their family to attend college?
The purpose of the project is to make our first-generation faculty and staff visible to students and to let them know that many of their professors, advisers and others have faced obstacles and challenges similar to the ones they are experiencing.
