Werde writes “Debunking the 60,000 songs uploaded to Spotify a day myth”

Bill Werde, director of the Bandier Program in the Newhouse School, authored the Hypebot story “Debunking the 60,000 songs uploaded to Spotify a day myth.” Werde, who spent many years at Billboard, has his own weekly newsletter on the music industry titled Full Rate No Cap where this piece first appeared. He explained how Spotify’s frequently repeated mantra that the streaming services uploads 60,000 new songs a day is not actually accurate given the number of monthly uploads and total songs on the platform.
