Brittany Kmush, assistant professor of public health in Falk College, was quoted in The Washington Post article titled “Coronavirus triggers cancellations, closures and contingency planning across the country.” Kmush, who specializes in epidemiology and global health, says that both state and federal level leaders considering closures or changes of public infrastructure must weigh whether these changes will cause more harm than good. “It’s definitely going to be a balancing act — balancing the risks and the benefits of canceling schools, businesses, social events. I don’t think there’s any kind of blanket right answer,” Kmush says.
