The intersection of Raynor Avenue and Stadium Place will be closed for about five days beginning Friday, June 18, due to planned utility work. [Update, June 18, 2021: The intersection will be closed until Wednesday, June 23, due to work accommodating existing underground utilities.]
The work is part of chilled water upgrades along Henry Street and Raynor Avenue. Due to this work, Raynor Avenue between Stadium Place and Henry Street will remain closed for approximately 5 weeks.
As the work has progressed to the intersection of Raynor Avenue and Stadium Place, the intersection will be closed to accommodate crews. This work is planned to span over a weekend to reduce traffic impact.
Traffic headed north on Stadium Place toward Raynor Avenue will be able to turn right on Raynor Avenue during this shutdown. During this time, the Syracuse Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center Parking and Irving Avenue garages will require entry only from Irving Avenue and exit only onto Stadium Place.
After the work is complete at the intersection of Raynor Avenue and Stadium Place, the work will continue east, requiring a closure of Raynor Avenue between Stadium Place and Irving Avenue for approximately four weeks. At this point, Stadium Place will reopen to traffic.
Utility work continues east requiring a closure of Irving Avenue at the Raynor Avenue intersection. Further detail regarding this closure will be communicated as information becomes available.
