iSchool to host information session for M.S. in Information Management program at 4 p.m. Nov. 17

The School of Information Studies will host an information session for all SU undergraduates who may be interested in pursuing an M.S. in Information Management (IM). SU students can also learn how they can begin taking graduate courses during their senior year and be on the fast track toward earning their master’s degree.

Professor David Dischiave, the director of the M.S. in Information Management program, will discuss the kinds of courses and material covered in the program, and he will give an overview of the ample career opportunities available to IM students. The 42-credit hour master’s program takes an interdisciplinary and innovative approach to preparing professionals know how to strategically manage information resources, collaborate on global teams, act as intermediary between technical staff and senior managers, and plan the effective use of information and communications technologies within organizations.

Alumni of the IM program work for such employers as Ernst & Young, Accenture, JPMorgan Chase, IBM, GE, Cisco, Microsoft, eBay, CIA, Fidelty Investments, and U.S. Government Accountability Office, among many others. They hold positions that include IT analyst, social media strategist, web developer, project manager, consultant, and entrepreneur.

The session will be held from 4-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17,
