The College of Law is pleased to announce that Virginia C. Robbins has joined the college as interim assistant dean of Career Services. In this position, Robbins will develop programs and services to support and advise students as they embark on their career journeys and assist employers and alumni seeking to engage and hire Syracuse Law talent. Robbins began in her new post on May 1.

Until recently of counsel at Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC, Robbins retired as a member of the law firm in December 2018. During her tenure, Robbins chaired Bond’s environmental and energy practice (2000-16), advising clients on state and federal regulatory compliance issues, particularly in the areas of air and water pollution control and solid and hazardous waste management.
Robbins served on Bond’s management committee from 2004-05 and again from 2014-15. She has been listed in Best Lawyers in America (environmental issues) for more than 10 years, and has served in the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources and the New York State Bar Association Environmental and Energy Law Section (chair, 2004-05). She is founding chair of the Central New York Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association (1995-96) and a board member and past resident (2005-07) of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry Foundation Inc. Robbins earned a B.A. from Rutgers University, a J.D. (with honors) from Rutgers Law School, and an M.A. from Middlebury College.
