David Popp, professor of public administration and international affairs at Maxwell, was quoted in the Washington Examiner article “Why Kerry’s claim on solar and wind jobs misses the mark.” Popp, an expert in environmental policy, says that the jobs involved in oil drilling and other similar fields are transferable to working with wind turbines. “It’s hard to think about intuitively, but the skills are actually a pretty good match. You want to have a good match between skills of workers in the jobs that might be going away and the jobs that might be created,” Popp says.
