Two Major Meat Facilities Shutdown Due to COVID-19

Rong Li, assistant professor of supply chain management in the Whitman School, was quoted in the Food Safety News story “Two large meat facilities shutdown because of too many employee COVID-19 cases.” Li commented on the shutdown of two major food processing plants in the U.S., and suggested that these shutdowns due to COVID-19 could lead to automation in the industry.
