Mary Szto, teaching professor in the College of Law, wrote a commentary for syracuse.com entitled “Businesses must act to stop COVID-19 anti-Asian racism.” In the article, Szto discusses the recent rise in racist incidents towards those apart of the Asian American population since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak. Szto encourages the use of restorative justice to combat this type of racism and prevent specific populations from being harmed while shopping.
