The Barnes Center at The Arch welcomes students to participate in the spring 2020 Soul Series programs. Soul Series collectively hosts both SoulScape and SoulTalk—a combination of discussions surrounding the philosophical meaning of life, purpose, identity and more—as opportunities for students to Be Mindful.
SoulScape
This program offers free overnight retreats at the Minnowbrook Conference Center in Blue Mountain Lake, N.Y. All three sessions of SoulScape will feature activities and group exercises focused on purpose, gratitude and vulnerability, and are designed to help participants collectively bond while also discovering a deeper self-understanding.
“SoulScape is a weekend of restoration and healing,” says Natasha Jackson ’19. “The experience is one that allows for students and staff to connect and dig deeper into the intricacies of what it means to be human, vulnerable and to exist in the world.”

SoulTalk
SoulTalk is a weekly gathering for students, held every Thursday from 7-8 p.m. during the academic year in the third floor Meditation Room. Each week, the program features a new theme surrounding life’s big questions. Some topics include pride, self-care and expectations. There is no need to register for this program. Light refreshments will be available.
“Throughout the busy semester, it is really easy to fall into a mindless routine, forgetting to reconnect with our values and emotions,” says Megan Wilcox ’21. “SoulTalk provides a space and time to reconnect internally and with others through shared experiences, emotions and snacks.”
