A picture-perfect moment from Family Weekend 2017.

Every fall, Syracuse University’s Office of Parent and Family Services rolls out the proverbial orange carpet for students’ loved ones, providing a glimpse of life at the University and an opportunity to explore the campus and its many diverse offerings. This year’s Family Weekend will be held Oct. 18-20, with registration closing on Friday, Sept. 20.

Here are some of the event highlights to which parents and families can look forward:

  • Experience Tradition: Syracuse football team hosts the University of Pittsburgh Panthers at the Dome. The game will kick off on Friday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m., and third-level tickets are available at a Family Weekend discounted rate of $25 per ticket. Game tickets can be purchased when you complete the Family Weekend registration process. Please note that the Family Weekend tailgate is currently sold out.
  • Explore Syracuse University’s schools and colleges. From the School of Architecture to the iSchool to the Whitman School, families will have the opportunity to meet their student’s dean and faculty members in specialized sessions across campus the morning of Saturday, Oct. 19.
  • Engage with the Central New York community. Later in the day on Saturday, Oct. 19, several outings in the greater Central New York region will be offered to students and their families. Enjoy a guided tour of the Skänoñh Great Law of Peace Center, an Iroquois Heritage Center focused on telling the story of the native peoples of the area; embark on a family hike at Green Lakes State Park; or visit Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards, voted the No. 1 Apple Orchard in the United States in 2017 by USA Today.

Visit the full schedule of events to register or to check out dozens more opportunities to engage with the campus community and learn more about the student experience during Family Weekend. For more information, visit the Family Weekend website or review the list of frequently asked questions.
