Geology Professor Featured for SU Lava Project

Jeffrey Karson, Earth Sciences Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, was featured in NPR’s Science Friday program for the story “The Geologists who Control Lava.”

In the story, Karson’s Lava Project at Syracuse University is highlighted. He explains that “we have to understand how lava behaves if we ever want to have any hope of, say, controlling a lava flow, or predicting how far the lava can travel, or making barriers to deflect lava flows.”
