collage of photos with peopleHave you ever wanted to pack your suitcase and visit a new city? Are you looking for terrific travel pointers but don’t know where to start? The latest GO (Generation Orange) Pro series, “Travel Hacks,” will feature expert advice to prepare you for your next travel adventure.

Debuting last winter, these GO Pro events are a series of fun, informative workshops designed for graduates of the last decade. This go-round, Syracuse University’s Office of Alumni Engagement, in partnership with the Generation Orange Leadership Council, is bringing the series to Central New York (Feb. 12), New York City (Feb. 21), Boston (April 2), Providence, R.I. (April 3), and Washington, D.C. (April 4).

“Millennials are more focused on spending their time and money on experiences such as food and travel. We came up with the travel hacks concept to share tips with our alumni on the best destinations, how to discover cost-efficient ways of traveling and how to find amazing food when they’re on the road,” says Oriana I. Fuentes ’12, a member of the Generation Orange Leadership Council.

The events in each city will be organized into small breakout groups where you can both learn from experts and share your own travel tips—all while enjoying drinks and meeting fellow young alumni.

Attendance for GO Pro events is $5 per person and includes appetizers and a wine tasting.

“The GO Pro events were designed by the Generation Orange Leadership Council as a way to bring valuable programming to young alumni. Our hope is that young alumni will learn valuable tips while staying engaged with the Syracuse family,” said Megan DiDomenico, assistant director of young alumni and student engagement.

After the spring series is completed, look for information on the 2019-2020 slate of GO Pro events later this year.
