Chancellor Appointed to 2019 Middle States Commission on Higher Education Executive Committee

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) has announced that Chancellor Kent Syverud has been elected to the 2019 Executive Committee.

Joining six other commissioners on the committee, Chancellor Syverud began his term on Jan. 1 and will serve through Dec. 31, 2019.

He was first elected to serve on the MSCHE in 2017. This is the second time he has served on the Executive Committee; he was first appointed in 2018.

Chancellor Syverud has taken a leadership role in higher education in the past. He has also served as president of the Law School Admissions Council and president of the Southeastern Association of American Law Schools.

In addition, the Chancellor has been chair of the accrediting authority for law schools in the United States, the American Bar Association Section on Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar.

The MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. secretary of dducation and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The MSCHE accredits institutions of higher education in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and other locations abroad.
