Orange After Dark (OAD), the late-night entertainment program offered through the Office of Student Activities, is back for the spring 2018 semester with an exciting event schedule. With returning favorites like cosmic bowling and snow tubing, and thrilling new events like rock climbing and a silent fit club, this semester is sure to be a popular one. Also new this year is an exclusive visit to the National Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls.
A highly anticipated event of the spring 2018 semester is the “Black Panther” movie premiere at Regal Cinemas on Thursday, Feb. 15. The movie was chosen via vote on the Office of Student Activities social media channels and on OAD event evaluations. With feedback from polls and evaluations, the OAD student event board identifies, plans and executes the OAD events each semester. Applications to join the OAD event board are available now.
With a jam-packed event schedule and ever-growing popularity, it is expected that the OAD events will continue selling out. Therefore, it is encouraged to check out the OAD website to find out more about ticketing. Some events require tickets, while some do not; some events are free, some have a $3 fee. Tickets will be available at Schine Box Office for undergraduate students two Mondays before the event. Graduate student tickets will be available the Wednesday before the event.
In addition to the list of spring events, OAD continues its popular late-night movie screenings on Friday and Saturday nights. Movies are shown in Gifford Auditorium in Huntington Beard Crouse at 11 p.m. and are shown with open captions. Free snacks are provided. Moreover, OAD continues its partnership with Recreation Services to host Late Night at the Gym from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Wednesday to Saturday nights at the Women’s Building and Flanagan Gymnasium. In addition to the regular recreational opportunities, Late Night at the Gym offers organized activities. The full schedule of activities can be found on the Late Night at the Gym website. The fun continues on Friday and Saturday nights with Late Night at the Rink at Tennity Ice Pavilion on South Campus from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
