Ensuring the safety of our students, faculty and staff is Syracuse University’s chief priority. As such, following consultation with our independent weather consultant, we have been advised that a cold front will be moving through the area, resulting in freezing rain turning into a wintry mix by this evening’s commute.
Based on this information, with the exception of essential services personnel (staff should consult their supervisors if they are uncertain if they are considered essential), supervisors may dismiss their teams at 4 p.m.
Please note, for the purpose of today’s announcement, personnel considered essential include service and operational staffs in Physical Plant, Residence Halls, Food Services, Fixit, and Campus Safety and Emergency Services.
