The mumps disease has been spreading throughout the Syracuse University campus this fall semester, enough so to prompt booster shots available for all students. Additionally, students themselves are doing their best to stop the disease, as CNY Central outlined this week.
“The concern comes from the unknown and that’s really why we’re doing this. We want to put health services individuals in front of the students and give them all the information they need to be really good advocates for their health,” said student Julia Haber, who helped organize a mumps informational tent that was set up on the quad at Syracuse University.
