Twitter used to limit its users to 140 characters. Now, the social media giant has doubled its allowed character count to 280 characters, changing up the landscape of the platform. For Agence Presse-France, Newhouse Professor Jennifer Grygiel spoke about how this change will influence the site, and its users.
“It will slow down the speed at which users consume information and will allow for more clarity,” Grygiel said. She also mentioned that this change will shift the way people communicate in this internet age.
