Syracuse Stage will host a free public performance of its traveling Bank of America Children’s Tour production “Metamorphan” on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. The performance is open to the public and will be in the Archbold Theatre at the Syracuse Stage/SU Drama Complex, 820 E. Genesee St. There are no tickets for this event.
“Metamorphan” is the story of a young orphan boy named Gregory, whose difficult foster home has made his life at school miserable. Gregory is teased by his classmates, including the school bully, for his shabby clothes, second-hand sneakers and lack of kickball chops. Then one day, with a little magic from the school custodian Frank, Gregory awakes to find himself transformed into a super-sports beetle and all bets are off.
The annual children’s tour production is part of Syracuse Stage’s commitment to providing enriching theater experiences through a variety of educational programming. It will travel to more than 20 elementary schools and be performed for nearly 10,000 students throughout Central New York this fall.
