Students enjoying the 2015 44 Stars of Excellence Gala & Celebration.
The 44 Stars of Excellence Awards acknowledge students, advisors and recognized student organizations (RSOs) who demonstrate outstanding dedication and commitment to their organization and its mission. Students, faculty and staff can submit nominations for the awards now through April 10 at noon.
More than 40 awards are presented, including the SU Spirit Award, the Award for Excellence by an Organization Advisor and the Award for Excellence by an Organization President. Each award has its own eligibility requirements.
“The 44 Stars Gala serves as a great opportunity to bring our student organization community together to celebrate all they have accomplished throughout the year,” says Dave Sargalski, director of the Office of Student Activities. “It also gives us an opportunity to recognize the students, organizations and advisors that have made great contributions to the University and greater Syracuse community through their involvement.”
The awards will be presented during the 44 Stars of Excellence Awards Gala on Thursday, April 20. The gala is sponsored by the Office of Student Activities, within the Division of Enrollment and the Student Experience, and Macy’s/Bloomingdale’s.
The emcees for the evening are Megan Wilcox, a junior in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Hernz Laguerre Jr. ’16, a graduate student in the Newhouse School. Each year, the Office of Student Activities selects emcees who exemplify commitment and dedication to advancing the student experience.
