SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

CNBC and Bloomberg/BusinessWeek reported on PepsiCo’s new on-the-go recycling initiative, which will directly benefit the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV), a national program created and managed in the Whitman School of Management.

The Environmental Leader’s “Earth Day Roundup” briefly featured news on the Carrier Corp. donation to the Sustainable Enterprise Partnership, as well as PepsiCo’s new on-the-go recycling initiative.

The SU-IBM Green Data Center is mentioned in a CBS News.com story on a new data center going up in Espoo, Finland.

UPI cited statistics from SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) in an article on deportation and immigration enforcement of illegal immigrants. Bloomberg/BusinessWeek also cited data from TRAC in an article on the IRS targeting small businesses with audits.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution previewed the “Never Too Late for Justice” retreat in Atlanta, hosted by Syracuse University’s College of Law’s Cold Case Justice Initiative.

FACULTY QUOTES

Jeff Karson, Department of Earth Sciences chair and Jesse Paige Heroy Professor in The College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in the Philadelphia Inquirer on Iceland’s volcanoes.

Bloomberg/BusinessWeek quoted Alice Sterling Honig, professor emerita of child and family studies in the College of Human Ecology, in an article on spanking children.

Ellen deLara, associate professor in the School of Social Work in the College of Human Ecology, was interviewed by KLVI-AM Radio, Beaumont, Texas, on bullying as a reflection of incivility in our culture and the media.

Harriet Brown, assistant professor of magazine journalism in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, appeared on CNY Central to discuss an ad campaign for Lane Bryant.
