SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

The Hollywood Reporter reported on the “Live From New York” discussion led by the New Yorker’s Ken Auletta and SNL’s Lorne Michaels and Seth Meyers. The event was organized by the New Yorker and the Newhouse School.

Sean Kirst’s Post-Standard column today focuses on the issue of snow clearing on the city’s sidewalks and mentions the University Neighborhood Partnership Committee’s sidewalk snow removal pilot program for the neighborhood east of the SU campus.

The Post-Standard featured this morning’s scheduled Warehouse talk by Barnaby Evans, creator of the famous WaterFire installation in Providence, R.I.

Syracuse.com reported on Miike Snow being named the first headliner for Syracuse University’s spring Bandersnatch series.

The Post-Standard featured Newhouse senior Patrice Innocenti for the launching of her website, The World on Campus, which broadcasts news segments produced by college students around the world.

FACULTY QUOTES

Harriet Brown, assistant professor of magazine journalism in the Newhouse School, published a column in the New York Times on modern love and family.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted by Reuters about the Iraq war movie “The Hurt Locker.”

Mehrzad Boroujerdi, director of the Middle Eastern Studies Program in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and The College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in the Huffington Post about the Mujahedin-e Khalq (PMOI/MEK), the main Iranian opposition group.
