SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

Statistics from SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) are cited in a Boston Globe story on the asylum case of President Obama’s aunt.

The Huffington Post and Fortune.com reported on Jamie Dimon’s commencement address at SU.

Rebecca Toback, a junior magazine journalism major at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, wrote an article for the Long Island Herald on a community fair event.

Maarten Jacobs, director of the Near Westside Initiative, is quoted in an Eagle Publications story on the launching of the Lipe Art Shark. Recent School of Architecture graduate Brendan Rose designed the Lipe Art Park piece.

FACULTY QUOTES

Gary Pavela, director of SU’s Academic Integrity Office, is quoted in Inside Higher Ed on student conduct and profanity.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted by Reuters on the departure of “American Idol” host Simon Cowell. He also commented in ABC News.com on whether television cameras distract law enforcement professionals who participate in reality shows.
