Syracuse University’s Campus-Community Entrepreneurship Initiative (Enitiative) and the Office of Technology Transfer and Industrial Design are sponsoring the “Innovation to Market Workshop Series,” which focuses on teaching entrepreneurs how to protect their intellectual property assets. Workshops are free and open to the public.

The next workshop in the series will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, from noon-1:30 p.m. in 347 Hinds Hall, located on the Syracuse University Quad. In this workshop, participants will be exposed to the basics of how to start a business, including the different types of corporations to consider when forming a business, tax and liability issues, and business incubator opportunities in Syracuse. Lunch will be provided free of charge.

Enitiative awards grants to individuals and organizations launching entrepreneurial ventures that connect college campuses with the surrounding communities. Enitiative was made possible through a $3 million, five-year grant from the Kauffman Campuses Initiative, awarded to SU and a number of academic and community partners.
