Pepsi executive to speak at Whitman April 2March 29, 2007Amy Schmitzaemehrin@syr.edu

The Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will host a lecture by A. Salman Amin (Salman) ’81, president of PepsiCo UK and Ireland, on Monday, April 2. The lecture, titled “International Strategy and Pepsi,” will be at 5:15 p.m. in Room 202 of the Whitman School building. It is free and open to the public. Paid parking is available in the University Avenue Garage.

As president of Pepsci Co UK and Ireland, which employs more than 5,000 people at 11 sites, Amin is responsible for snack foods (Walkers), breakfast cereals (Quaker), fruit juices (Tropicana and Copella) and smoothies (PJ’s). Prior to this role, Amin was chief marketing officer for PepsiCo International. He joined PepsiCo in 1995 and before that, worked at Procter & Gamble for 10 years, where he held a variety of brand management positions.

A U.S. citizen, Amin was born in Pakistan and graduated from SU in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He received his M.B.A. in 1985 from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
