Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications will host two Alexia Photojournalism Seminars Feb. 19 and 23 at the Newhouse School.

John Long, ethics chairman with the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), will present “Ethics in the Age of Digital Photojournalism” on Monday, Feb. 19, at 3:45 p.m. in Room A1 of Newhouse I. Long will discuss the history of digital manipulation, the ethics involved in using the new technology, and the necessity of honesty throughout photojournalism today. A frequent lecturer on ethics in photojournalism, he is a former photographer with the Hartford Courant and NPPA past president.

Dudley Brooks, assistant managing editor of photography with the Baltimore Sun, will present “The Picture Story in the Age of Multimedia” on Friday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m. in Room A1 of Newhouse I. Brooks has worked for The Washington Post, the Rockford Register Star and WBAL-TV in Baltimore. He co-directed and photographed the book and exhibition “Songs of My People: African Americans: A Self-Portrait” (Little Brown Co., 1992). He is also organizer and director of the Imagenes Havana International Photography Festival in Havana, Cuba.
