Kanye West to headline 2006 Syracuse University Block Party

University Union (UU) has announced that entertainer Kanye West will headline the 2006 Syracuse University Block Party Sunday, April 30, with a special guest opener. The concert begins at 8 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for SU and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry students with valid I.D., and $25 for the general public. About 10,000 tickets are available.

Audience members must be at least 18 years of age or a registered SU or ESF student. No one under the age of 18 will be granted entrance without valid SU or ESF I.D. Parental or legal guardian escorts are not permitted. There will be no re-entry.

Cameras, recording devices and bags will not be allowed. Paid parking will be available for $10 in West Campus lots.

An Internet pre-sale for SU and ESF students only will take place April 17 at 9:30 a.m. through April 20 at 6 a.m. Tickets may be purchased by visiting the UU website, http://universityunion.org, and following links to the pre-sale. There is a limit of four tickets per student. Tickets are subject to a $2 convenience charge. SU and ESF student tickets ordered through the Internet pre-sale must be picked up at the Carrier Dome Box Office, located at Gate B, April 24 from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. or April 25 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Valid I.D. is required.

Non pre-sale tickets for SU and ESF students with valid I.D. will go on sale at the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center Box Office April 20 at 11 a.m. through April 28 at 5 p.m. For more information, contact the Schine Box Office at 443-4517.

SU and ESF students and members of the general public may purchase tickets through Western and Central New York Ticketmaster centers and the Dome Box Office. Ticketmaster sales are April 20 at noon through April 28 at midnight. For more information, visit your local Ticketmaster center. A list of local centers is available on the UU website. Tickets are subject to Ticketmaster convenience charges. The Dome Box Office will sell tickets April 20 at noon through show time April 30. For more information, call 443-2121.
