D’Aniello to speak on ‘Global Private Equity’October 15, 2003

Daniel A. D’Aniello ’68, founding partner and managing director of The Carlyle Group, will speak on “Global Private Equity” Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management’s Schoepflin Auditorium. The lecture is part of the Martin and Phyllis Berman Distinguished Lecture Series.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Paid visitor parking is offered on a space-available basis in the Irving and University Avenue Garages.

The Carlyle Group, based in Washington, D.C., is one of the world’s largest private equity firms, with nearly $16 billion under management. Prior to forming Carlyle in 1987, D’Aniello was vice president for finance and development at Marriott Corp., where he was responsible for valuation of all major mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity offerings and project financings. Before joining Marriott, D’Aniello was a financial officer with Pepsico and TWA.

D’Aniello graduated magna cum laude from the Whitman School, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. He is a 1974 graduate of the Harvard Business School.

The Martin and Phyllis Berman Distinguished Lecture Series brings prominent business leaders, academics and entrepreneurs to the SU campus. The series is made possible through the support of Martin L. Berman ’62 and Phyllis West Berman ’66.
